Ss PETER & PAUL FEAST DAY CELEBRATIONS
Save the date: SATURDAY 27 JUNE, after 5.00pm Mass
Time flies and next Saturday following 5.00pm Holy Mass is our annual Celebration of
Ss Peter & Paul’s Feast Day.
All are welcome: young, mature and children, to join the celebration with a hot meal and a drink and a little light-hearted fun to make you smile. It’s a great opportunity to meet other parishioners and catch up with those not seen in a while for a chat. If you’re new to the parish, please come along –
you will be most welcome.
If you have already completed the form and returned it in the basket today or earlier, thank you so much, it really helps us plan catering. If you and your family, or just you would like to go but you haven’t completed the form – or you are aware of people who would like to attend – don’t worry, there’s still time to fill in the form before you leave church this evening.
Or you can have a word with either Pauline or Joy in the narthex as you leave.
Missed the deadline because you have been away or perhaps are reading this online and wish to join in? No problem! It’s not too late. Please call Joy on 01704 822316, or
Pauline on 01257 451934 by Thursday evening (25thJune) with your requirements and we will be very pleased accommodate you / your party.
Just leave your name & phone number & we will ring back if we’re not in.
We look forward to meeting you all next week to celebrate!
Ged Tyrer, Chairman, SSP&P Fundraising Group
All profits will go towards the cost of a refurbishment of the Parish Centre

CHURCH FLOWERS – HELP WELCOMED
We’re always grateful to our flower arrangers, Ann & Tony, who make sure our church is filled with beautiful flower arrangements every week. They would welcome help from anyone who is interested in learning more about this really important role. Please have a word with them after the Vigil Mass, or contact the parish office, in order to find out a bit more about it.
2 WALKING DAYS: CROSTON COFFEE DAY & MAWDESLEY TEA PARTY
Croston on Saturday 4 July
Mawdesley on Saturday 11 July & Sunday 12 July
Parishioners are invited to get involved, either helping out on the day, or walking.
There will be an ecumenical service at 11am on Sunday 12 July, in the marquee on Mawdesley cricket field. Everyone is very welcome to join in the fun!
Please contact Rev Tracy Marshall, rector of Croston & Mawdesley, on 01772 973826 / 07837 624872, or via email: rector@3churches.gmail.com to find out more.
CHURCH FLOWERS
We’re always grateful to our flower arrangers, Ann & Tony, who make sure our church is filled with beautiful flower arrangements every week. Many of the flowers are sourced from their garden and also the grounds of the church, but inevitably many flowers also need to be bought and this incurs costs. Any donations therefore are particularly welcome and will help to ensure that our altars continue to provide a fitting tribute to Our Lord.
OFFERTORY ENVELOPES / GIFT AID / STANDING ORDERS!
If you are a taxpayer then you can easily help the parish to claim 25% extra on top of every donation you make – and it won’t cost you a penny! Eg: a donation of £10 per week would result in £12.50 going to the church. If you are able to use gift aid, please collect a form from the porch on your way out today, and return it to the Parish Office asap.
If you are a taxpayer who makes regular cash donations, please consider using an offertory envelope instead of just placing your ‘loose’ donations in the basket. This is really important: it can bring in more than £1000 to the church every year, as we’ll be able to claim gift aid directly on every donation you make. It won’t cost you anything at all, but it will make a huge difference to our finances.
Please contact the Parish Office if you’d like to use envelopes – they are free!
Even better – you can donate ‘painlessly’ each month by setting up a standing order with your bank. Forms are available in the porch.
DON’T FORGET! PARISH FOODBANK – DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME
Thank you for donations already received, which have been taken to the foodbank centre at St Mary’s in Leyland. They are particularly short of tinned pasta, tinned meat / fish and puddings.
Please check that donations are well before their BB date!
Thank you all for your kind-hearted generosity. It makes such a big difference.
