SUDAN CRISIS APPEAL – FINAL APPEAL
The war in Sudan has been going on for a year now and has dropped out of the news – it’s a ‘forgotten’ war. Yet many people there, including children, have had to flee their homes and are now without shelter, food, water and medicines.
CAFOD is working with local partners to try and help them to cope, but they are desperately in need now as starvation and famine threaten the most vulnerable. Please give what you can TODAY to help CAFOD in this vital work. Envelopes will be available and please remember to gift aid, if you can. The additional money makes a huge difference. Thank you.
SPONSORED WALK FOR MARIE CURIE
Parishioners and volunteer Tom Molyneux sets off today (Saturday) on a huge adventure: walking all 214 of the ‘Wainwright’ peaks in the Lake District – approx. 350 miles. He’s doing this to raise funds for Marie Curie, which cares for people with cancer. Anyone wishing to donate to this worthy cause may donate online, via Just Giving at www.justgiving.com/page/thomas-molyneux , or see Tom, once he’s back in church after this tremendous feat.

RCIA – A MASS FOR NEW CATHOLICS
A Mass for New Catholics has been arranged for Thursday 20 June at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral at 7pm and will be celebrated by Archbishop Malcolm. Anyone received into the church, both this year and previous years is welcome to attend with their families, friends, and Catechists

Standing Orders – Many find this an easier alternative to trying to remember to bring cash along each week. Forms are available in the porch / from the Parish Office. You can determine the amount and when it is deducted each month. Please post compoleted forms to your bank.
Envelopes – easy, because they can be prepared before coming to church. They afford some ‘privacy’ for the amount donated. Please contact the Parish Office so we can arrange this.
Cash / cheque donations each week and very gratefully received.
Gift Aid If you are a taxpayer then you can easily help the parish to claim 25% extra on top of every donation you make. Eg: your donation of £10 per week could become £12.25 going to the church. Filling in a simple form to register your name and address means we can claim an additional 25% of your gift

OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED IN THE PARISH
Now that parish activities are starting up again, there are a number of opportunities to become a bit more involved in parish life, particularly: stewarding/welcomers, driving deliveries to St Mary’s foodbank every other week, singing with the choir, flower arranging, church cleaning, altar serving, fund-raising. Help is welcome from all ages! Please contact the Parish Office by email or ring on Fridays, in order to find out more.
