MASS INTENTONS
Mass intentions are welcome, not just for our dear departed, but for any other occasion eg in thanksgiving, successful outcome (exams / operation), wedding / anniversary blessings. Please write your name and intention, with the preferred date – if applicable –  on a piece of paper and place in an envelope, along with your offering, either in the weekly offertory basket or through the presbytery door.  It may not be possible to guarantee the specific date requested, for various reasons, however, every effort will be made to find a date as near as possible.  Thank you for your understanding.

NATIONAL BOARD OF CATHOLIC WOMEN
All women, all ages, are very welcome to join us for our first get together on Wednesday 13 July at 7.30pm in the Gild Hall, 74-76 Church Road, Formby, L37 3NG.
Discussions will be centred around women within the church, the obstacles they face and how we can move forward in the future to enable us to have an active role within the church. All ideas can then be fed back to the Bishops of England and Wales via the Archdiocesan representative for the NBCW.
If you are interested but cannot attend, and would like more details or have any views or comments, please contact Pat Murphy on mpmmurphy@aol.com  or Clare McCarthy on claremccarthy488@gmail.com

CERTIFICATE IN PASTORAL MINISTRY
Are you currently involved in Church ministry but wish you knew more about your faith? Do you sometimes lack confidence and feel you could benefit from further training and formation? Do you want to grow in your faith and ministry and perhaps find new ways to share your gifts with others? We have a course designed just for you!
The Pastoral Ministry Certificate is an online, two-year learning experience. The programme is offered by Loyola University Chicago, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Liverpool and in collaboration with Catholic dioceses and formation teams in England and Wales.  It has been created with busy people in mind. The programme will take you on a journey of discovery, looking at key aspects of the Catholic faith whilst encouraging reflective observation of your own ministry and that of others.
For full details of the course see www.liverpoolcatholicresources.com/loyola   You can also email loyola@rcaol.org.uk

OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED IN THE PARISH
Now that parish activities are starting up again, there are a number of opportunities to become a bit more involved in parish life, particularly: stewarding/welcomers, driving deliveries to St Mary’s foodbank every other week, singing with the choir, flower arranging, church cleaning, altar serving, fund-raising.  Help is welcome from all ages!  Please contact the Parish Office by email or ring on Fridays, in order to find out more.

WEEKLY COVID UP-DATE FOR MAWDESLEY & CROSTON
Fewer and fewer people are testing now, so weekly figures lack the accuracy that they used to have.  The weekly Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures, published every Thursday, have always been the most accurate.
Please see Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Office for National Statistics (ons.gov.uk)
A lot of people are still extremely worried about catching Covid, so smaller churches (like Ss Peter & Paul’s) will still encourage parishioners to wear face masks, in order to protect everyone from possible transmission.

LET’S KEEP TALKING – SUPPORT FOR ANYONE SUFFERING IN ANY WAY AS A RESULT OF THE PANDEMIC
Please pick up a leaflet on your way into/out of church, from Lancs & S Cumbria Mental Health Support.  Help is out there if you’re struggling to cope, or you know someone who is struggling.

MUSICAL TREATS FOR THE WEEK
