CAFOD PRAYER FOR THE VENEZUELA EARTHQUAKE CRISIS
Faithful God, even when the earth shakes, your love remains firm. You are our refuge and help.
Be near the people of Venezuela, in this time of grief and fear.
Welcome into your light those who have died, comfort those who mourn,
be close to those who are injured and bring renewed hope to those who have lost all that they built.
Move us, and the world, to respond urgently and generously, in this time of crisis
and keep us united in solidarity, walking with the people of Venezuela, in the long journey of recovery ahead. Amen.
DONATIONS: ENVELOPES / ONLINE
You can help our neighbours affected by the 24 June earthquakes in Venezuela with emergency shelter, water and food. CAFOD is already working with local Church partners to support people who have lost their homes, but we need your support to help more survivors. Your donation will provide essential supplies and help families rebuild their lives.
Donate to the CAFOD-DEC Venezuela Earthquake Appeal today: cafod.org.uk/Venezuela or call 0300 999 0030.
Please keep our neighbours in Venezuela in your prayers.
FUNDRAISING SOCIAL EVENING LAST WEEK
The Fundraising Team would like to thank all the parishioners and friends who attended the Social Evening last Saturday, for their time & money and also the generous donations given by absent friends.
A big thank you also, to Evie’s team for serving the food – they did a great job.
We hope everyone enjoyed themselves catching up with friends and family and perhaps meeting someone new.
All the profits will go towards the refurbishment of the Parish Hall, which we are hoping to do this year.
We have another date for your diary: Sunday 20th December 2026. Watch this space!!
The Red Admiral Music Academy has agreed to perform again for us in the church during the afternoon. Last year’s performance was amazing, so if you missed it, be sure to come along this year.
With many, many thanks to you all for your support.
Ged & Kath, Pauline, Ann & Tony, Benita & Simon, & Joy (The Team)

CHURCH FLOWERS – HELP WELCOMED
We’re always grateful to our flower arrangers, Ann & Tony, who make sure our church is filled with beautiful flower arrangements every week. They would welcome help from anyone who is interested in learning more about this really important role. Please have a word with them after the Vigil Mass, or contact the parish office, in order to find out a bit more about it.
CHURCH FLOWERS
We’re always grateful to our flower arrangers, Ann & Tony, who make sure our church is filled with beautiful flower arrangements every week. Many of the flowers are sourced from their garden and also the grounds of the church, but inevitably many flowers also need to be bought and this incurs costs. Any donations therefore are particularly welcome and will help to ensure that our altars continue to provide a fitting tribute to Our Lord.
OFFERTORY ENVELOPES / GIFT AID / STANDING ORDERS!
If you are a taxpayer then you can easily help the parish to claim 25% extra on top of every donation you make – and it won’t cost you a penny! Eg: a donation of £10 per week would result in £12.50 going to the church. If you are able to use gift aid, please collect a form from the porch on your way out today, and return it to the Parish Office asap.
If you are a taxpayer who makes regular cash donations, please consider using an offertory envelope instead of just placing your ‘loose’ donations in the basket. This is really important: it can bring in more than £1000 to the church every year, as we’ll be able to claim gift aid directly on every donation you make. It won’t cost you anything at all, but it will make a huge difference to our finances.
Please contact the Parish Office if you’d like to use envelopes – they are free!
Even better – you can donate ‘painlessly’ each month by setting up a standing order with your bank. Forms are available in the porch.
DON’T FORGET! PARISH FOODBANK – DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME
Thank you for donations already received, which have been taken to the foodbank centre at St Mary’s in Leyland. They are particularly short of tinned pasta, tinned meat / fish and puddings.
Please check that donations are well before their BB date!
Thank you all for your kind-hearted generosity. It makes such a big difference.

MUSICAL TREAT FOR THE WEEK
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xx18d7ixjhk&list=RDXx18d7ixjhk&start_radio=1
A really lovely rendition of Handel’s soprano ariaetta, ‘How beautiful are the feet’, sung with great simplicity by Sylvia McNair, with the Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields.
A very gentle and soothing, heavenly blessing.
WITH EVERY BLESSING FOR ALL PARISHIONERS FOR THE NEXT WEEK
