200 CLUB:  Many thanks for your subscriptions.  Receipts can now be collected from the table in the porch

200 CLUB DRAW / COFFEE MORNING: will be held this Sunday in the hall after Mass

LITTLE CHURCH:  The children’s Little Church sessions will start next Sunday, 12 January.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS:  Thank you to those who provided the lovely poinsettia plants to decorate our church, and especially to Lovania Nurseries for their generosity.

CHRISTMAS FOODBANK: A BIG thank you to all our parishioners who so generously donated extra goods for Christmas.  Lakeside Christian Centre distributes every week to families in need around Southport and Banks.  The volunteers asked me to pass on their heartfelt thanks for your gifts, especially at Christmas – which can be a very difficult time of year for many families and individuals.

MOVEABLE FEASTS FOR 2020:

Dear brothers and sisters – as we have rejoiced at the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, so by leave of God’s mercy, we announce to you also, the joy of his Resurrection, who is our Saviour. On 26 February will fall Ash Wednesday and the beginning of the fast of the most sacred Lenten season On 12 April you will celebrate with joy Easter Day, the Paschal feast of our Lord Jesus Christ On 21 May will be the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ On 31 May, the feast of Pentecost On 14 June, the feast of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ On 29 November, the first Sunday of the Advent of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom is honour and glory for ever and ever.  Amen.

ECUMENICAL WALK OF WITNESS SERVICE AT OUR LADY’S, SUNDAY 19 JANUARY – 4pm Our Lady’s is part of the Tarleton Walking Day Ecumenical Group and as such, we will be hosting the annual service this year.  Please make a note in your new diaries! The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins in two weeks’ time, on Saturday, January 18, and continues through to Saturday, January 25. The theme for 2020 is “They Showed Us Unusual Kindness.” (Acts 28:2) Please join with Christians around the world praying “that all may be one… that the world may believe” (John 17:21). You can also join with members of other Christian churches and communities in our area for this service at Our Lady’s on 19 January. There will be refreshments in the hall afterwards, where you can meet with fellow Christians in a more social setting!
