FRESH FLOWERS IN OUR CHURCH
Anne Scholes is doing a wonderful job of ensuring that we can enjoy lovely arrangements of beautiful fresh flowers every week, on the altar and before the statues – so much better than the artificial ones seen in many churches nowadays. Anne sources flowers from her own garden and sometimes the church grounds, but at this time of year most of the flowers have to be bought from a florist. All donations left in the little box on the wall (under the picture of the Archbishop) are therefore most welcome and very much appreciated!
MASS INTENTIONS
Please note that it is not always possible to request a Mass for a specific date. This may be because there is already an intention for that date, or no Mass is being said on that date. I will put it in the Mass Book for the next available date.

MUSICAL TREATS FOR THE WEEK
LULLY – Grand motet De profundis Psalmus CXXIX – YouTube
A very different change in tone this week: with Armistice Day (11 November) and Remembrance Sunday (13th) very much in mind, this is a sombre but very dignified and beautiful motet by French composer Lully, who worked for Louis XIV in 17th century France. Nonetheless, this De Profundis (Out of the depths I cry to thee, O Lord…) still captures the sorrow and loss felt by so many as a consequence of the horrors of warfare.
WITH EVERY BLESSING FOR PARISHIONERS & FAMILIES THIS NEXT WEEK

- Contact the office (by phone or email) to request a Standing Order mandate for your bank –
