Message from the Bishops of England, Ireland and Scotland
There has been much discussion in the media recently about ‘assisted suicide’, whereby people who feel they are overburdened by suffering will be facilitated in bringing their lives to a premature end by a change in legislation. The Catholic Church opposes this.
As Catholics, along with many people of other faiths and none, we share a different vision about what it is to be fully human, especially when we are suffering and approaching death in the hope of eternal life…. We are called to defend this gift of life to its natural end and to protect vulnerable citizens from a culture that could pressure them into assisted suicide. We support people with the companionship of a listening ear, appropriate treatment, and the best of care, so that their last days can be times of grace, intimacy and love.

FIRST COMMUNION CHILDREN
Our children have made their final preparations for their 1st Holy Communion next Saturday, 15 June. The celebration Mass is on Saturday 15 June, in the morning. Please remember Lola, Romi, Rafa, Poppy, Gabby, Evie and Riva in your prayers, as they prepare to begin a new and ever closer relationship with Our Lord.
OUR PATRONAL FEAST DAY: Ss PETER & PAUL, Saturday 29 June
To celebrate the feast of SS Peter & Paul, refreshments will be provided in the parish centre following the 5.00pm Mass on 29th June. Please join us if you can, everyone is most welcome – especially visitors.

Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to complete the hike due to the appalling weather: a month’s worth of rain in 24-hours! Nevertheless, Tom is extremely grateful for all donations and good wishes.

Standing Orders – Many find this an easier alternative to trying to remember to bring cash along each week. Forms are available in the porch / from the Parish Office. You can determine the amount and when it is deducted each month. Please post compoleted forms to your bank.
Envelopes – easy, because they can be prepared before coming to church. They afford some ‘privacy’ for the amount donated. Please contact the Parish Office so we can arrange this.
Cash / cheque donations each week and very gratefully received.
Gift Aid If you are a taxpayer then you can easily help the parish to claim 25% extra on top of every donation you make. Eg: your donation of £10 per week could become £12.25 going to the church. Filling in a simple form to register your name and address means we can claim an additional 25% of your gift
